This position will require the use and operation of construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, graders, loaders, and more.
Duties & Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
Safely and efficiently operating motorized construction machinery to move earth, materials, and heavy objects across construction, civil engineering, and demolition sites in accordance with CK Services policy and State and Federal laws. Including but not limited to wearing proper PPE at all times.
Weather Adaptability
The ability to work in hot and cold conditions while maintaining safe equipment operation standards and following all site safety protocols throughout changing weather.
Work Schedule
Must be dependable to work a 40-hour week which could include overtime and some weekends to meet project deadlines and operational needs.
Safety Compliance
Strictly comply with OSHA, MSHA, and company-specific health and safety policies as necessary. Ensure all safety protocols are followed on every job site.
Daily Maintenance
Perform daily maintenance and walkaround inspections such as fluid level checks, grease pivot pins and bushings, keep equipment clean, check tires/pressure and keep filters clean. Inspect tracks, tires, rollers, and teeth/cutting edges for wear or damage.
Routine Maintenance
Complete daily equipment inspection logs and promptly submit work orders or repair requests to ensure all machinery remains in safe, operational condition.
Communication
Work closely with ground personnel and spotters using standard hand signals, horn codes, and two-way radio communications to maintain safe and coordinated operations.
Equipment Safety
Park equipment safely on level ground, lower all implements/buckets to the ground, lock cabs, and engage master disconnect switches. Complete all duties assigned by the foreman.
Position Requirements
1 year of experience is preferred in equipment operation but willing to train the right candidate.
Must have a valid Class D driver’s license.
You must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol tests, as well as a criminal background check.
A High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
Must be dependable to work a 40-hour week which could include overtime and some weekends.
Dependable transportation to our company location. Transportation to the job site will be provided.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). Effective communication skills to work cohesively with crew members.
Willingness to strictly adhere to all OSHA and company safety guidelines. Use and operate construction equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, graders, loaders, etc. Any certifications are a plus.
